The West Indies beat Ireland by 24 runs in Sabina Park in Jamaica first ODI series to take a 1-0 lead in three match series. Batting first, West Indies lost all their wickets and scored 269 runs in 48.5 overs. Then they bowled out Ireland for 245 runs in 49.1 overs.
Shamrah Brooks, who has scored the most runs in the West Indies innings, has scored 93off 89 balls which contains of nine four and three six. Kieron pollard has scored 69 off 66 balls, including four fours and six sixes. A strong 155 run partnership is formed between Shamrah Brooks and Kieron pollard for the fifth wicket. Mark Adair and Craig Young took three wickets each for Ireland and Andy McBrine took two wickets.

Chasing the target, Ireland’s innings ended at 245 in 49.1 overs. Ireland was in a good position at 36 overs losing 1 wicket for 165 runs, but then the second wicket fell and was all out for just 70 runs. Captain Andrew Balbirnie scored the highest run for Ireland. He made 71 runs in 94 balls. Romario Shepherd and Alzarri Joseph took three wickets each for West Indies and Odean Smith took two wickets. Shamrah Brooks has become the ‘PLAYER OF THE MATCH’. The second match of this ODI series will be held on 11th January at the same ground.
